July 4th – France

Liz and I took a trip to her favorite city in France.  We met up with some friends and had an amazing dinner on the west bank.  We had two days to see monet’s water lilies, Rodin’s bronze sculpture – “the thinker”, the eiffel tower, Hemingway’s Bar, etc.. while riding bikes around the city which was a thrill and somewhat dangerous.    We took a train through the country side of france arriving in the Basque region.  The Basque people want to be left alone to speak Euskara as their official language.  Basques are divided between those who want full independence from Spain and those who want more self-government.  The adventure, the food, the culture was amazing.
