Lice!!

Cody woke up in the middle of the night – scratching and crying.  Liz immediately blamed Stella.  For the first time, it was not Stella’s fault.  Cody picked up lice at Day Care.  No Surprise, we spent the rest of the weekend “Nit Picking” in isolation.  We actually had a great time and spent a lot of quality time as a family with a lot to laugh about.  Cody is now Nit and Lice Free - thanks to a very diligent effort from mom and dad.  WOW!!!

October and November 2011

Wow, time is flying by.  We ended September with a week and half of bed rest for liz.  Bed rest was not easy for lizzy!!!  It was a challenge to keep her quiet.  We celebrated Cody’s birthday, Halloween, the VT 50, Flight School, Bronx Zoo and some downtime in Portland.  Dr. Bob passed away.  He was one of the biggest characters  I have ever met.  He was such an amazing eccentric guy with such a love for people, animals, and LIFE!!  The stories that were shared at his funeral and the reception were amazing!!! – The day was spent crying and laughing.  One of my favorite quotes was ” Winning is Everything”!!  We will all miss him.  He reminded me of one of my favorite people – My god father – Marshall Jenney.

Finkle’s Wedding

September 17th – Fink and Greta got married.  We went down to South Dartmouth near Little Compton.  It was a beautiful weekend.  We hung out with Bussy, Katie, Owen, Ali, Amo, and Kathryn.  Brought back memories of the SafeScience days with Fink and the crew back in Boston – drinking cleaning products and Harvard Gardens.  Congrats Fink and Greta.  Great Night, fun dancing, and a long cocktail hour.

5 Years of Marriage

Wow!!!  what a great 5 years with Lizzy!!!  A lot has happened: Highlights – we moved to Portland Maine – renovated a house, Hunt Cup Victory, broke my back, Cody arrived November 16th 2009, Liz graduated from Medical School and residency, both of liz’s grandparents(babar and grandfather) passed away, lot’s of travel and adventure including India and Africa.  We celebrated our 5th year on Chebeague Island at the Inn on September 15th.  This is our second year celebrating on Chebeague Island.  It was a rainy summer night on our way out there and when we came home it was a cold crisp fall morning.  We had another great evening reminiscing of the past years events.   I feel so lucky to have spent 5 great years with Lizzy!!!

Overnight – Labor day

We went for an overnight on Aces island on Labor Day weekend.  Sleeping on a rock with dogs barking all night did not lead to a lot of sleep.  It was a gorgeous fall night.  We woke up – a little groggy from the slow release Amben and hiked from seal cover across 5 mountain tops to Somesound.  Stella ran into one porcupine which was pretty ugly but the needles did not slow her down.  Liz, 6 months pregnant, peer pressured us into the hike and led the way.  September in Maine is amazing.

NEH

We had a great hike up the “old” Precipice Trail in Acadia.  Liz (6 months pregnant) scaled up with ease.  It brought back memories of our wedding weekend, when Liz and I took a ton of people up the precipice including  people who had no idea they would be climbing up ladders overhanging a cliff.  It is probably the most exilerating hike in Acadia especially if you are afraid of heights.  Charlie and Muffy have shown a lot of trust following me up the “old trail” over the years.

Jackson – Bill’s 75th Bday – August 13

We had a great trip to jackson to celebrate Bill’s 75th surprise birthday.  Ty took us on one of his typical 6 hour mountain bike rides - up and down the pass. Brian took us fishing down the snake and we spent the afternoon on Jackson Lake.  The pictures speak for themselves.

Irene

Hurricane Irene was a little “Overhyped” in Portland Maine.  The surf was really fun on monday/tuesday.  Although, we had a great day hunkered down at home on sunday - cleaned areas of our house that have never been seen before.  We were also able to see Ty and Cath’s new place in Richmond on friday night before Irene hit which was really fun.
