We spent the weekend in Chester County, Pennsylvania. We had a surprise 70th Birthday Party for mom with a pimps and hoes’s theme. The outfits were hilarious. Cody danced the night away and the full monty song -Take your hat off – was played multiple times. The weekend ended with the willowdale steeplechase. I rode in the first race which was the first time i have raced since my fall in 2008. I was definitely the heaviest jockey at the races.
Cody and Stella have really bonded. The first thing cody says in the morning is “stella, stella” 
Liz won a creative writing contest in 2010 awarded at the Medicine Consortium. I wanted to share it with everyone. See Below:
Nostalgia
A funny sentiment, nostalgia is,
That strong bittersweet longing for something past.
Derived from the Greek nostos, “returning home” and algos, “pain,”
There was a time when nostalgia was a medical condition.
Treatment for soldiers at war was return to home.
Nostalgia strikes me, occasionally, in the hospital on morning rounds,
Darting between rooms, in and out of lives.
A patient is wearing my grandmother’s perfume.
I want to linger in this room, take off my white coat,
Come home.
Great time in Jackson Hole with the cousins. Lincoln won the nose picking contest (a skill inherited from her father), Cody the buddha belly, and Hadley the best hugs.
Stew, Stella and I had another beautiful hike up the pass with a great ski down Glory bowl. Brian unfortunately was side-lined with a torn ACL, but still managed to be an amazing guide. Allison once again proved her prowess as superwoman dealing with 3 whining kids… hadley, lincoln, and brian.
After watching Inception, we’ve all had insomnia…

We had a great weekend in portland. we got about a foot of new snow. We went for a cross country ski with cody on saturday morning around Crescent beach. Cody had a big wipeout when liz fell skiing onto the beach. She did not know whether to cry or laugh. Sunday was jammed packed with adventure: we skinned up Mt Pleasant and skied down, stopped at Brays, went to Boston to listen to Lindsey Mac play. Feb 26-27th 2011!!
President’s day weekend – it snowed about 8 inches which made for a great day of skiing!
