“The Comeback”

This was a week of comebacks.  After 15 years since Liz’s last Hurdle race, she dusted off the sneakers and competed in the Maine Medical vs UNUM track meet.  Her Pre-race work consisted of jumping a couple old hurdles in the woods of SOPO.  She was so sore by the time the race started that she could barely walk.  She broke off the blocks slow but her old form shined as she edged out the girls from unum for her first victory.  I also competed in my first Triathlon in 8 years.  The last time i competed in a Tri, i rented a bike with a basket and a bell in Block Island.  I bolted to the front as we ran into the ocean for the swim which shortly resulted in me getting trampled and kicked by every swimmer that swam by me.  I nearly sank to the bottom of the ocean that day.  Needless to say, the recent triathlon effort went a lot better.
